In a previous post we discussed using freelancers to reduce your workload. Sometimes though, it can be better to be the freelancer. Think of it – most make money online projects cost some money – monthly fees for sites like ClickFunnels, advertising costs, or having someone design your website or produce an ad video. But what do you do if money is really tight, and you don’t have the cash to put up front? Where can you make money without investing? Or, maybe you have some marketable skill. How can you quickly leverage this to earn some cash?
Again, sites like Fiverr can be your best option. They already have the exposure – many people like me will be going there, looking for a service provider. Depending on the service, the fees might seem a little low, but if you can do the task quickly, you can earn some quick cash. This can then be put towards either your financial goals or your startup.
So what skills might you bring to the table? Are you a fast typist? Are you good with digital illustration? Or do you have a gift for writing? There are people looking online for all of these services, and more. Do you speak a second language? Translation can be very profitable. Some gigs charge $5 USD per 100 words. The first paragraph of this post is 98 words – how long would that take you to translate?
What about your voice? Do you have a strong, clear, interesting voice? Are you a good reader? Voice over gigs are very popular. We aren’t talking about singing here – it is mostly reading copy in sync with a pre-made video ad. One seller charges $60 USD for 50 words! For this you need some decent recording gear, but it doesn’t have to be a high end setup. A decent digital mic, a quiet room and some free recording software, and you could be off to the races.
To those with a business or finance background, you can definitely earn some quick cash online by providing your expertise. Prices range wildly for business plan writing, but this is something that is easily templatable. Once you have the basic template, you add your expertise and some industry and location specific research, and you could not only make money, but help someone else out in their journey.
There are even gigs for offering online music or painting lessons, giving relationship advice, or nutrition and health advice. The point is – you no doubt have marketable skills. Someone out their is willing to pay for your services. That money could be just what you need to get started on the road to financial freedom. No, you won’t likely make millions on Fiverr. But you just might make the cash to pay for your professionally designed website. And that could take you to places you never imagined.
